This Cape Fuchsia, adorned with bunches of creamy yellow tubular flowers throughout the summer. The creamy yellow contrasted against opulent heads of blue Agapanthus is a classic summer combination. Originally from South Africa, Cape fuchsias can be tender for their first winter, after that they harden off. Protect plants with a mulch each autumn on exposed sites. Will do well in a sunny spot or light shade in moist but well drained soil; suitable for all soil types. They are fast growing as they layer and send up suckers, so they need a firm hand to restrict them in spring or autumn. But they do offer months and months of colour in the garden. Good at the back of beds or amongst the shrubs. A hardy perennial that will keep some leaves through the winter. Height 90cm and spread 120cm.
